Our Court handles various class C misdemeanors that are committed by Juveniles and or Minors.

WHO IS A JUVENILE/MINOR?

JUVENILE:

A juvenile is any person that is under the age of seventeen (16 and under).


MINOR:

A minor is any person that is between the age of seventeen and twenty (17-20).


JUVENILE APPEARANCE

The Court notifies the parent/legal guardian by mail when the juvenile receives a citation, or a criminal complaint is filed. State law also requires that the juvenile appears with his/her parent or legal guardian. Both the juvenile and parent/legal guardian must be present at all court proceedings. The name and address of the parent/legal guardian used by the Court is the name and address the juvenile provided to the issuing officer. CAN I PAY MY CITATION PRIOR TO MY COURT DATE?

The court is prohibited from accepting payment of a fine from a juvenile defendant prior to his/her appearance before the judge.
