Marsha Porter, Council Place 5

Marsha PorterMarsha Porter has been serving the Citizens of Conroe for much of her life.  She previously served on Conroe City Council for eight years from 2008-2016.  She is a former Conroe Industrial Development Corporation board member and has been a part of Conroe's financial committee as well as a former member of the personnel committee.

Councilwoman Porter is proud to be a former member of Conroe's City Insurance Committee and the Tourist Council.   She has been dedicated to the Arts and Culture in Conroe and is currently the Arts Liaison for the City of Conroe.

Councilwoman Porter is a retired educator of 39 years, all in Conroe ISD, where her career included being the Athletic Director and has led her to be a member of the Lions Club for retired teachers and member of the Conroe Retired Teachers Organization.

Councilwoman Porter is dedicated to furthering her service to the Citizens of Conroe and continuing to pave the way for future growth.

Her priorities have always been and will continue to be:

  • Low Tax Rate;
  • Continue the fight for low water rates;
  • Ensure the safety of the community is a priority;
  • Develop new infrastructure as well as repairing old infrastructure;
  • Strengthen and enforce conservative tree ordinance
  • Assist our local businesses recover from the economic effects of the COVID-19 virus;
  • Continue to attract large companies to the area that will bring in more jobs and tax revenue.
