Howard Wood (1)Growing up in Brownwood, TX, Howard learned the value of a solid work ethic, personal responsibility, and perseverance.  He ultimately earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  With a strong desire to serve his country, Howard graduated high school on a Friday and entered the United States Marine Corps that following Sunday. 

Howard is a committed husband married 14 years to his wife Vanette, a 2000 graduate of Conroe High School. Together, they work to keep strong Christian values the center of their family. 

They chose to call Conroe home and raise their three strong, determined, and confident daughters here.  “We’re excited about the opportunities our daughters have here and we’re committed to making our city even better for future generations”.

 Howard has built a solid reputation for being very approachable, a person who gets things done and is willing to take on big challenges.

Howard has fulfilled campaign commitments to stop clear cutting of our trees and establish a tree ordinance for responsible development, preserving Conroe’s natural beauty and also voting to lower your taxes as promised.  All of this in less than 3 months into his term.

His campaign promises are:

  • Fight Against Tax Increases
  • Fight Against High Water Rates
  • Keep Cost in Line With Budgets
  • Back the Fire, Police and Emergency Response unapologetically
  • Improve Safety of All Residents in Our Community
  • Fight to Protect Our Natural Resources
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M and built a successful career in oil & gas drilling as an entrepreneur.

Further Service To Our Community

Howard also serves as a Director at the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park, Chairman of the KidzQ Competition for the Montgomery County Fair Association and dedicates significant time to mentoring entrepreneurs and serving our Veterans.
